Our History

Founded in 2003 by Deb Adams, legaSeas International is a registered 501C3 with the primary mission of advancing measurable progress in the protection of the oceans and planet. Our name signifies our passion and commitment to seeking and supporting long-term solutions to protect the legacy of our oceans for future generations.

Much of our work is focused on providing branding and marketing expertise to empower passionate individuals and organizations working on our world’s most pressing environmental challenges. legaSeas.org is also an accredited observer organization with the International Whaling Commission, where legaSeas has attended meetings since 2002.

Deb Adams

Deb is an entrepreneur, creative catalyst, and environmental activist. In 1997, she created a new model for a marketing agency and founded domodomo International Marketing Group, a certified women-owned business, it is known for its socially responsible business practices and delivering bold, award-winning work to the agency’s Fortune 500 clients.

Deb is an ardent environmentalist and lover of all things ocean. She serves on the boards of three international organizations, OPS, BlueVoice, and Cetacean Society International. She has dedicated much of her work to ocean conservation with a strong focus on the preservation of whales and dolphins.

Deb is a global traveler, avid cyclist, and ocean explorer known for her adventurous spirit and passion for saving the planet.Deb lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with her husband, John.

 
 
 

Jennifer Nolan

Jennifer R. Nolan is an award-winning author and passionate environmentalist with a focus on ocean conservation. As an author, Ms. Nolan has written a series of books aimed at engaging and educating young readers about endangered species and the environment at large. In collaboration with renowned nature photographer Jim Abernathy, her most recent title is Sea Turtles Up Close. Other award-winning titles include Sharks Up Close, The Secret of Pig Island, and Spintastik.

Ms. Nolan has decades of experience serving on non-profit boards, ranging from the United States Fund for UNICEF to Maine Audubon. She currently sits on the board of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and serves as board chair and director of strategic engagement for Oceanic Preservation Society.  She and husband, John Nolan, have proudly raised four sons in Maine over the past 28 years.
